  • Port Townsend Transfer Station: Tue-Fri 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; Sat 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Quilcene Drop Box: Thu-Fri 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.; Sat 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • What each site takes: Port Townsend handles garbage, recycling, and yard waste. Quilcene is for household garbage and recycling only.
  • Port Townsend Fees: Port Townsend garbage is $191 per ton with a $20 minimum up to 220 lbs.
  • Quilcene Fees: One 32-gallon can $10; two 32-gallon cans $20; loose garbage up to 1 cubic yard $38.
  • As of April 1, 2026: Recycling-only loads at either site cost $20. If you bring trash and recycling together in the same trip, you are charged only for the trash and recycling remains free on that load.
